About

I am six foot one, last time I checked.

I weigh 175 lbs. give or take a meal.

I have dark hair. It’s brown, even though everybody insists that it’s black. I think I would know.

I have tan skin. When I was born it was yellow. Doctors called it Jaundice. Now, it’s just tan. Even in the winter when pasty panicky people partake in a little tanning bed action, my skin remains olive.

I have brown eyes that don’t need glasses…yet. The more I stare at the computer, the sooner I’ll acquire a set of clear-colored spectacles.

I’m skinny. Have always been skinny. Tall and skinny. In middle school I was gawky. In high school: lanky. Now, I’m just skinny.

I dress up if necessary. But mostly I enjoy hoodies in the winter and t-shirts in the summer. Fall and spring: a combination of both.

I like all types of music, but mainly indie rock. Stuff like Death Cab, Arcade Fire, and Band of Horses. The type of music that makes you want to sit in your room and cry while holding hands with your inner child. I also like The Deftones, Rage Against the Machine and Against Me. The type of music that makes you want to stand in your room and break things. Of course, I also like Beethoven, Mozart and Bedrich Smetana. The type of music that makes you want to paint the entire world with drops of melancholy ecstasy.

Movies: Who doesn’t like movies? I love em all, even if they’re bad. In fact, Slaughter High could be one of the worst movies ever made and yet, I’d watch it again if it was right here. It’s ridiculous, humorous and filled with good ole fashion horror scenes. But when it comes to favorites, nothing beats Raising Arizona, Trainspotting, Teen Wolf and Amelie.

Thanks to the writer’s strike, I haven’t been watching a ton of TV lately. That might be a good thing. It’s given me more time to write. When the writer’s aren’t striking, I enjoy watching The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, 30 Rock, Heroes and of course Lost. In fact, the day after Lost, I dedicate a good seven hours to community boards, Lostipidea and any other Lost related threads I can get my hands on.

I’m not good at sports and never will be. That’s my choice. I’m satisfied with being mediocre. I do; however, live for college football. Will root, root, root for the home team. And enjoy watching the athleticism of Favre, Manning and Brady. I’m getting sick of Brady. Oh, and I love playing poker.

I can’t stand ignorance. Or people who can’t take a joke. Life is funny. It can also be tragic. It’s up to us to realize which is which.

I know I’m good at writing. I could be better at grammar. I feel bad learning new grammar tricks. I don’t want to put editors out of business.

I don’t care for elephants or donkeys. I think they’re both wrong for this country. They all have hidden agendas. They say an elephant never forgets, and yet, when he’s elected, he seems to forget about all those promises he made. And donkeys hee haw their way into office, kicking up taxes and offering free rides to crazy foreign dictators. I’m for simplicity. We don’t need power, money or greed to be happy. It’s time this country learned that.

I have a younger brother and an older brother. I’m wedged right in the middle.

My parents are still married. Imagine that.

I’m from Atlanta. Have lived in New York. And now live in Chicago. Thanks Carlos.

Growing up, we always had dogs. I once had a cat for about a minute, but then my girlfriend and I broke up. Now, I’m back to dogs. Two golden retrievers and a dachshund. You can read more about one of them in my blog entitled “My Buddy”.

I drink Coke. Mainly because I hate Pepsi.

Hate is a strong word.

Dislike.

I was in a band in high school. We played our senior picnic. We were horrible, but nobody noticed.

If I had a favorite drink, it would have to be Crown and Coke. I don’t drink a lot so it’s hard to designate a favorite. I’m usually favored as the designated driver.

I did go to bartending school. I know how to make a Zombie. No one drinks or has ever heard of a Zombie. But I can make it, regardless.

Excuse me. I’ll be back later.

I agree with it too… dislike sounds better.
Are you about to update this section? You are in Chicago already, my friend, and got a doggie… some new stuff going on.

    Anyway… I like your writing.

Are we gonna get motorcycles and ride around this city?

    Cheers, my friend!
